Nurse Practitioner -Acute Minor Illness Clinic/Surgery

The nurse practitioner is able to assess, diagnose and treat/prescribe (where appropriate) for the following conditions:

• Coughs and colds                                                                                                                          
• Sore Throat
• Tonsillitis
• Chest Infection
• Sinusitis
• Hayfever
• Fever
• Rash
• Earache/infection(otitis externa/otitis media)
• Childhood Infectious Diseases (e.g. chickenpox, hand foot and mouth, slapped cheek, mumps)
• Urinary Tract Infection/Cystitis
• Sore eyes (e.g. conjunctivitis, styles, red eye)
• Skin Infections (e.g. impetigo, cellulitis, scabies, fungal infections, paronychia)
• Human/Animal bites
• Insect bites/Stings
• Emergency Contraception
• Mouth Ulcers/Thrush
• Nappy Rash/Thrush
• Minor Head Injury
• Diarrhoea & Vomiting
• Nosebleeds
• Dry Skin conditions (e.g. mild eczema)
• Threadworms
