Appointments
In our continued effort to improve access for our patients and following feedback from yourselves we have introduced the following changes:-
- We have increased the number of appointments that can be booked in advance and extended our diaries for eight weeks into the future. This should reduce the number of people requiring same day appointments and allow greater choice with regards to who you can see and when you can book an appointment for.
- We are continuing to provide a number of same day appointments for your convenience. We are also continuing to provide telephone appointments with each GP.
- We also provide Duty Doctor cover for urgent problems that require same day / immediate attention. If this becomes full, you may be asked to sit and wait at 5.15pm in order to see the next available Doctor. Please note this is for urgent problems only and is not a drop in service or extended hours surgery. We are at present unable to offer these services.
In order to help with this provision we now have a new partner Dr Kristina Kerr as well as a Nurse Practitioner Hilary Ellis.
The Nurse Practitioner role is a new one for Oakengates Medical Practice, which we hope to develop and expand with time. At present she runs daily clinics for Minor Illnesses which can be booked upon the day. Please ask at Reception for more information, or click here.
